Professor Ziyaad Mahomed
Professor Ziyaad Mahomed’s extensive Islamic finance experience has seen him deploying his expertise as Project Lead to the Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad, -INCEIF in research collaboration on product innovation and market penetration.
He currently holds dual positions in (ICTSC), as member of the ICT Steering Committee INCEIF and Book Project Manager,INCEIF also in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He is also the Associate DEAN/ Director, INCEIF Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (Executive Education & E-Learning).
At various times he was a Shariah Advisor, Alif Capital, Tajikistan (International) as well as at IIHSAN Takaful Ltd Mauritius, Mauritius (International).
He is the Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Board of Buraq Capital, Abuja, Nigeria (International) and is also the chairman of the HSBC Amanah Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (International).
Professor Mahomed is a member of the Shariah Supervisory Board of the Bank of Maldives, Male, Maldives (International).
He has a B.A. in Business Finance from the Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom.
Professor Ziyaad Mahomed earned his Ph.D in Islamic Finance at the International Centre for Education in (INCEIF), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Sa’id Adekunle Mikail is a Researcher at International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) and a Lecturer at International Centre of Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF).
He is Registered Independent Foreign Shariah Adviser with Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC). He is a Shariah Committee Member of BNP Paribas (Najmah) Malaysia Berhad, Shariah Committee Member of PruBSN Takaful Malaysia Berhad, ACE Member of TAJ Bank Limited Nigeria and Shariah Advisor for Masyreif Management House in Malaysia and I Consult Africa (PTY) Ltd Ethical and Responsible Advisory, Cape Town, South Africa. He obtained his Bachelor Degree of Shari‘ah (first class honour) from Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia, followed by Master of Comparative Laws and PhD (Law) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
His areas of specialisation include Islamic finance, comparative laws and Islamic private equity & venture capital. His publications focus on Shari‘ah issues in Islamic finance, Islamic legal theory, Islamic private equity & venture capital, Islamic entrepreneurship, comparative law, zakah, waqf and Islamic social finance.
Ibrahim Ali Alkali
Ibrahim Alkali is a vastly experienced Islamic finance professional and Shari’ah compliance expert. He has worked in Jaiz Bank Plc as the Internal Shari’ah Adviser of the Bank as well as a Shari’ah Non-Compliance Risk Manager. He is also the former Internal Shariah Auditor of Sun Trust Bank.
He is a certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) from the renowned Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) Bahrain, and a Certified Islamic Banker (CIB) from the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) Bahrain.
Ibrahim obtained his BSc In Hadith and Islamic Studies from the Islamic University of Madinah, and an MSc in Islamic banking and Finance from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
He has attended various Islamic Finance conferences and trainings in Malaysia, Singapore, and Nigeria and facilitates training programs on Islamic Banking and Finance.
