Asst Professor Ziyaad Mahomed
He has served in several capacities at INCEIF University, Malaysia, including Associate Dean & Director of Executive Education & E-Learning, and Head of Social Finance.
He has also served as advisor/consultant on fintech, Islamic social finance and Sukuk to government organisations in the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, the Philippines and Nigeria amongst others.
Dr Ziyaad is the Chairman of the Shariah Boards of HSBC Amanah, FBNQuest Asset Managers (Nigeria), One17 Capital (Nigeria), Buraq Capital (Nigeria), Iman Ltd (Uzbekistan), Barakah Finance (United Kingdom) and iConsult Africa. He also serves as Shariah Scholar on several other boards including BML Islamic (Maldives).
He has a B.A. in Business Finance from Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom, an MBA (MANCOSA, South Africa), CIFP (INCEIF, Malaysia) and PhD in Islamic Finance from INCEIF. He studied Islamic Jurisprudence (with specialisation in fiqh mu’amalat) with scholars in South Africa, Egypt and Jordan.
Prof. Muhammed Tabiu
Prof. Muhammed Tabiu, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), is a Law Professor at Department of Islamic Law, the Faculty of Law Bayero University Kano.
He has been expert adviser to various justice sector programmes in Nigeria for the last twenty years, including, currently, National Team Leader of the Managing Conflict in North East Nigeria Programme (MCN) and a short term expert on Islamic law, Human rights and Humanitarian law to International Organization for Migration (IOM).
He is also Co-Chairman of the Federal Justice Sector Reform Programme, under the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Justice and Chairman of Board of Directors. He was 2013 Kraemer Middle-East Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence, Williams and Mary University, Williamsburg, USA.
Some of the other positions he held in the past include Head of Department of Islamic Law and Dean of the Faculty of Law at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto; Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Jigawa State; Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria (NHRC); and Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin.
Dr. Sa’id Adekunle Mikail
He is a Researcher at International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) and a Lecturer at International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF).
He is Registered Independent Foreign Shariah Adviser with Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC). He is a Shariah Committee Member of BNP Paribas (Najmah) Malaysia Berhad, Shariah Committee Member of PruBSN Takaful Malaysia Berhad, ACE Member of TAJ Bank Limited Nigeria and Shariah Advisor for Masryef Management House in Malaysia and iConsult South Africa and Capital Trust Halal Fixed Income Fund in Nigeria. He has also served as Shariah consultants including Expert Witness in the Kuala Lumpur High Court (Muamalat Division) in Malaysia.
He obtained his Bachelor Degree of Shari‘ah (first class honour) from Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia, followed by Master of Comparative Laws and PhD (Law) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
His areas of specialisation include Islamic finance, comparative laws and Islamic private equity & venture capital. His publications focus on Shari‘ah issues in Islamic finance, Islamic legal theory, Islamic private equity & venture capital, Islamic entrepreneurship, comparative law, zakah, waqf and Islamic social finance.
Tesleem O. I. Akosile

Tesleem’s Islamic finance experience include Shari’ah Non-Compliance Risk and Product Development, aside his significant experience in legal research, and general legal practice.
He holds LLB Common & Islamic Law from the University of Ilorin, LLM from the University of South Wales UK, Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) from the Global University of Islamic Finance, International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF).
He is also a Certified Islamic Banker (CIB) by the General Council for Islamic Banks And Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) and a Certified Sharia Auditor and Adviser (CSAA) by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI).
He has certifications in Negotiation & Conflict Management; Interfaith Conflict Resolution; and Conflict Analysis from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), Washington DC. Mr Akosile is a Graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (GNIM), an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb) UK, and a member of the Risk Manager Association of Nigeria (RIMAN).
